Toddlers and young preschoolers participate in developmental milestone activities throughout the day. Experiences are associated with the Missouri Early Learning Goals, which include statewide goals for approaches to learning, social and emotional development, physical development, and language and literacy skills. Additionally, curricular activities include weekly opportunities to learn about Jesus as a Friend and Savior, as they follow the church year calendar. Teachers and assistants provide early educational experiences with tender loving care in a welcoming, Christ-centered environment for young learners.
A flexible schedule allows for large and small group experiences and lots of purposeful play. Children may begin attending the Early Learning Program when they are 18 months old. Schedules include half day, full day, and before and after school sessions.
Program Description & Choices
Eligibility
Children are eligible for the Early Learning Program beginning at 18 months through 3 years of age. Children may attend the program 2, 3, 4 or 5 days per week: half day (8:00am-11:30am) or full day (8:00am-2:45pm). A minimum of 2 half days/2 whole days is required to allow for smoother transitions from home to “school”. Toddlers and young preschoolers benefit socially and emotionally from a dependable pattern of attendance.
Classroom Communities
Our classrooms are comprised of mixed age groups: 18 months to 3 years of age. Research has demonstrated that classrooms composed of learners with a range of abilities and gifts will have measurable gains in leadership skills, pro-social behavior, independence and competence in cooperative learning abilities. Older learners nurture younger learners and all children benefit from collaborative learning strategies.
Before and After School Care
Before School Care is available from 7-7:45 am and After School Care is available from 3:00-6:15pm. This service is billed hourly in order to serve individual family needs.
