April 20: Wednesday was the last half day of school this year for Zion. Time was spent by Zion’s church and school staff in fellowship over lunch and Bible study. The school staff used the rest of the afternoon in professional development. They studied the upcoming accreditation process.
It is time for Zion to delve into the accreditation process once again. Zion has held National Lutheran School accreditation since the 1980s. A new format is once again being rolled out for the accreditation process. Evidenced Based Accreditation will be used as Zion does an in-depth self-study of the school. Faculty members, parents, and congregation members will be asked to serve on committees, answer surveys and to welcome a visiting team next March to our school.
We will also be going through an Ongoing Improvement accreditation process for Zion’s pre-school at the same time. Pre-School is a huge part of our school and congregation, to that end, we want to be able to grow where we can, and celebrate the many strengths of such a program.
Many thanks go out in retrospect and for the future. Thank you for the change in schedule for a half day of school on Wednesday. Thank you also in the future for your prayers and work on the accreditation process next school year.
