December 8: These days, asking a question in a classroom that can be answered by Siri is probably not a very good question. Memorizing the state capitols still has some value for students, but that value has changed. So, what is important for the growth of a child?
Teaching our children to think of others first, to help those in need, and to make decisions for the kingdom of Christ are all good concepts to learn. Learning to be a great member of a congregation and a good citizen are important lessons to help children to grow. The best way to learn some lessons is by watching others, not by memorizing things such as state capitols. Thanks to our wonderful and supportive congregation, our students have great role models to watch and learn from.
